Little Wood River
Experience all this amazing place has to offer!
The Little Wood River begins its journey downhill from the south side of the Pioneer Mountains. The headwaters are full of feisty rainbows, cutthroat trout, and brook trout. Below the Little Wood Reservoir and the town of Carey, it joins with Silver Creek and becomes a freestone spring creek. The desert water is another of those very special places. The Little Wood has carved a myriad of trout holes through the lava rock, where eager rainbows and browns await a well-placed hopper pattern. This piece of water is a remote getaway, an oasis in the high desert, frequented by many critters seeking refuge from the summer heat.
