Fishing Report

  • Trail Creek Pass is closed until early summer, check back later for updates on the fishing.

  • Flow:

    75.3 CFS

    Clarity:

    Excellent

    Recommended Fly Patterns:

Baetis, Rubber Legs, Zebra Midge, Worms, Streamers.

    Fishing Conditions:

For those adventurous enough to make the trip, the Lost can produce some large fish this time of year. There will be some baetis and midge hatches during the warmest parts of the day, however nymphing or fishing streamers is going to produce the most fish. With low water flows, make sure to employ a stealthy approach as to not spook any fish. Cover lots of water and look for deep holding water.

  • Flow:

    616 CFS

    Clarity: Off-color

Recommended Fly Patterns: Rubber Legs, Zebra Midge, Worms, Pheasant Tails, Worms, Small Streamers.

    Fishing Conditions:

With the warmer weather we’ve seen the past few days, the Bigwood has blown out. Flows are high and the water is off-color. However, there are still fish to be caught. Fishing a rubber legs with a squirmy and a splitshot or two may be the ticket in the right hole. Make sure to be careful while wading as it may be difficult to see where you are walking. The Bigwood is closing on March 31st and will not reopen until Memorial Day.

  • The Little Wood can be very hard to fish this time of year; with tough access created by muddy roads and frozen water, it may be best to fish elsewhere.

  • Flow:

    112 CFS

    Clarity:

    Excellent

    Recommended Fly Patterns:

Baetis, Small Streamers, Leeches, Zebra Midges, Soft Hackles, Pheasant Tails, Worms

    Fishing Conditions:

While the Nature Conservancy is closed, fishing is still open downstream of the Kilpatrick Bridge. During the warmer parts of the day, you may run into some Baetis and midge hatches, but otherwise all fishing will be subsurface. Swinging smaller streamers or soft hackles will be your best bet.

  • Recommended Fly Patterns:

    Streamers, Leeches

    Fishing Conditions:

With the warmer weather we have experienced this winter, fishing in reservoirs such as Magic has been good. Streamer fishing will bring you the most success. Access may be tough with muddy roads.
